Clariant Masterbatches UV Content Blockers for PET are designed to provide cost effective blocking in the 300nm to 400nm range. These products offer extended shelf life for food, beverage, medicine, chemicals and cosmetics packaged in PET bottles. Due to the varying sensitivity of content materials, testing is required to determine actual shelf life extension.
The functionality of UV Content Blockers is dependent on 5 variables:
1. Level of blocking desired.
2. Modifications to clear PET (including colorant and other incorporated variables).
3. Wall thickness of bottle/container.
4. Addition rate of UV blocker.
5. UV blocker product selected.
